2009/10 CONNECT Officers

Dan Demarco, Vice President and General Counsel for The Hill Group and Commissioner of Ross Township, was named as a Second Vice Chairman to the Pittsburgh Congress of Neighboring Communities (CONNECT), June 19, 2009. CONNECT is “an initiative to promote cooperation and collaboration between the City of Pittsburgh and the 35 municipalities that share a common border with the City.” The initiative was formed in response to the need for mutual cooperation between the City of Pittsburgh and surrounding municipalities and is affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.
CONNECT will meet twice a year to address policy issues that affect Pittsburgh and the 35 surrounding municipalities. As its first issue to address, “CONNECT identified public transit and storm water/sewer issues as the more pressing shared concerns of the urban core.” Dan is serving in his 10th year a member of the Ross Township Board of Commissioners and is currently the president of the board. He also is a member of the Board of Directors of the Local Government Academy and a member of the Northland Library Board of Trustees, in addition to his work at The Hill Group.
