Dan DeMarco, Hill Group Vice President and General Counsel, Recognized as a Regional Fast Tracker

Dan DeMarco, Vice President and Legal Counsel of The Hill Group, Inc., was recognized as a regional "Fast Tracker", by the Pittsburgh Business Times. 

Dan is Vice President and General Counsel for The Hill Group, Inc.  In the capacity of Vice President he provides leadership as a versatile and experienced member of the team and oversees human resources activities.  As General Counsel, Dan advises The Hill Group on legal affairs, provides legal representation, analysis of legal issues, and administers contracts.

Dan serves as Commissioner of the First Ward of Ross Township.  He was first elected to the office in November 1999 and began his first term on the Board of Commissioners January 2000. He was re-elected to a second four-year term in November 2003.  Dan currently is running for reelection to a third term as Commissioner.

Dan also serves as co-chairman of the Ross Public Safety Committee overseeing the policymaking decisions of the board of commissioners as they relate to the Ross Township Police Department.  Dan is also the liaison between the Board of Commissioners and all eight volunteer fire departments in Ross Township. He brings to that role over 12 years of hands on experience as a former active firefighter with the Berkeley Hill Fire Company.

Dan is a graduate of Allegheny College and Duquesne University School of Law. After law school he served as a Law Clerk for Allegheny County, Court of Common Pleas Judge John A. Zottola. Dan also practiced law for several years with the Pittsburgh law firm of Sherrard, German & Kelly, P.C. prior to joining The Hill Group, Inc.

Dan serves as the President of the Board of Trustees of the Northland Public Library. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Benedictine Center in Ross Township. He has been honored as one of Pittsburgh’s Fifty Finest by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. His memberships include, Leadership Pittsburgh Class of XVII and the Allegheny County Bar Association. He has also assisted as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

Dan is also an instructor for the Local Government Academy and serves as a guest lecturer annually at the Heinz School at Carnegie Mellon University.
