Palitto presents “Innovation Through Self-Assessment” at PCRG Community Development Summit

Jordan Pallitto, Consultant at The Hill Group, Inc,. was a featured presenter at the  Pittsburgh Community Reinvestment Group (PCRG) Community Development Summit and Awards Reception on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the Omni William Penn Hotel.  Pallitto joined Chris Beichner of Mount Washington Community Development Corporation and Michael Kumer of Duquesne University’s Nonprofit Leadership Institute in presenting “ Innovation Through Self-Assessment ."

Part I of the session focused on steps taken by Mount Washington Community Development Corporation to improve operations and reputation by assessing organizational capacity and developing actionable plans to enhance long-term sustainability.  Part II provided a hands-on opportunity for audience members to identify options for strengthening their own organizations.

PCRG is a coalition of community leaders working for economic justice, equitable investment practices, and sufficient financial resources to revitalize communities throughout Allegheny County.  Each spring, PCRG hosts an Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony to celebrate the hard work of its membership and to thank partners for their commitment to Pittsburgh’s neighborhoods.  This year, the program was expanded, through a partnership with the Urban Land Institute, to host this year’s first Community Development Summit.  The summit brought together community groups, nonprofits, government agencies, developers, architects, planners, researchers, financial institutions and other investors and lenders to discuss issues related to the revitalization of communities throughout the United States.
