Labor Supply:  How Michigan Can Stay Relevant in the Changing Global Workforce

7/2008

Kelly Glass, a consultant at The Hill Group, presented on labor supply dynamics at the Michigan Economic Developers Association Annual Meeting.  Kelly’s presentation, Labor Supply: How Michigan Can Stay Relevant in the Changing Global Workforce, addressed how human capital fits into the economic development equation, especially given a dynamic global workforce, and how Michigan can leverage its human capital resources to remain competitive.  The presentation discussed the industry partnership approach to economic development and included case studies highlighting the Pennsylvania Center for Health Careers, an initiative of the Pennsylvania Workforce Investment Board, and Western Pennsylvania Diversity Initiative, an independent 501c3 working to cultivate a diverse workforce in Western Pennsylvania.

Kelly specializes in workforce development, strategy development, and program design, implementation, and evaluation.  Kelly serves as a founding board member for the Western Pennsylvania Diversity Initiative and as an advisor for the World Affair’s Council’s Young Professional’s Initiative.  For more information on the presentation of our workforce development practice, The Hill Group can be reached at info@hillgroupinc.com
