Business Analyst, Scott A. Rogerson, Presents at Vale-U-Health Breakfast Club Series

Scott A. Rogerson, CISA, Business Analyst with The Hill Group Inc., presented the as a guest speaker at the Vale-U-Health July Breakfast Club Series at the Monongahela Valley Hospital on how physician offices can prepare themselves for the upcoming Red Flags Rule compliance deadline of November 1, 2009. This regulation, developed by a combination of federal agencies as a result of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003, was implemented to prevent an individual from obtaining medical services under the guise of another person’s identity and to detect the use of an unauthorized identity and act upon that detection. The presentation included a review of the regulation and discussion on the necessary steps for Identity Theft Prevention Program completion. Scott will be presenting in the September Breakfast Club Series, scheduled for the morning of Wednesday, September 30, on the recent changes to he Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) as a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), considerations when implementing a data security program during a transition to an electronic medical record (EMR) system, and the ability to realize operational and regulatory efficiencies between your data security and identity theft prevention programs.
Scott specializes in data security, management, and compliance, as well as the development of custom applications for data collection and analysis. Scott is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) with experience in the fields of data analytics, information technology governance, and system implementation across multiple industries, including healthcare.
