During recent months I haven't had to break out my winter coat. As of a few weeks ago, however, winter is here in Pennsylvania. The snow is falling; we hit the holiday party scene; and my coat is wrapped securely around me. It's been a year to remember, both good and bad. It reminds me that the experience of life isn't just about joy but also about sorrow. As humans, sorrow somehow makes us appreciate the good times all the better. For now, I'd like to focus on the positive things that have happened this year. In no particular order they are:

Working with so many terrific people in incredible organizations, who have allowed me to grow as a person, both professionally and personally.

Steelers playing extremely well and making a run for the Super Bowl.

My graduate students in my management consulting class at Carnegie Mellon University providing a myriad of wonderful projects for area not-for-profits.

A number of new staff at THE HILL GROUP, who have provided energy, insight, and laughter.

Several trips away, allowing me time to refocus and work toward the full court press.

Spending time with my family during the holidays.

Waking up every day knowing that we have purpose, direction, and goals that make everything that much sweeter.

I hope our newsletter meets you with great joy and happiness. Think of it as your virtual coat, keeping your organization warm during the cold winter months (or a light jacket for our friends fortunate to be in warmer climates).
